Sorter Supervisor - Baggage Handling
Jazeera Airways is looking for an experienced Sorter Supervisor to lead all baggage operations during the shift. You will oversee the Baggage Make-Up Area and Baggage Break-Up Area, managing both automated CTX machines and manual processes to ensure all departing, arriving, and transfer baggage is handled accurately and on time in Baggage Manager.
This role is key to ensuring efficient baggage flow, adherence to KPIs, and safe airside operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities in BMA, including CTX machines, baggage transfers, joining baggage, quick transfers, and left-behind baggage.
- Ensure online and offline station baggage is scanned, reconciled, and dispatched correctly using BRS and trolley sheets.
- Monitor baggage KPIs, including arrival baggage handling, misconnects, and processing times.
- Lead, train, and guide baggage handling teams for safe and efficient operations.
- Liaise with Ramp Handling Duty Manager, Turnaround Coordinators, and Load Control to ensure seamless baggage delivery.
- Manage and maintain accurate documentation, including BRS sheets and trolley logs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Aviation, Airport Operations, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in baggage handling, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with CTX machines, BRS systems, and airside baggage operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with IATA standards, SOPs, and airside safety regulations.
- Ability to work under time-critical conditions and manage multiple priorities.
