FAQs
I am only travelling one way; can I purchase the travel insurance policy? +
Yes, you absolutely can! Jazeera Airways’ travel insurance policy is available for one-way trips as well as round trips. Whether you’re jetting off for a new adventure, relocating, or just not planning a return flight anytime soon, you’re still eligible to purchase coverage. Your one-way travel coverage ends either 48 hours after arrival at your final Jazeera destination, or upon your return to your country of residence, whichever comes first.
Who can buy this policy? +
The policy is available to Jazeera Airways customers travelling to Kuwait, or Kuwait residents travelling outside of Kuwait, aged between 3 months and 80 years old. Residents of the following countries, as well as travelling to, from, and through the following countries are excluded: Russia, Crimea and the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, Belarus, Syria, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Afghanistan and Burma/Myanmar.
What’s travel insurance, and do I really need it? +
Think of travel insurance as your trip’s safety net. Flight delays, lost bags, surprise illness. Our insurance has your back (and your suitcase). It’s not mandatory, but it’s seriously smart.
Who do I contact in the event of a medical emergency? +
In a medical emergency, don’t panic! Just grab your phone and contact the 24/7 emergency assistance number provided in your travel insurance policy. Save that number before you jet off, so it’s easy to find when you really need it. You can find the contact details and procedures within the policy document and certificate of insurance. On behalf of Gulf Insurance & Reinsurance Company, Europ Assistance provides a 24/7 medical assistance service - directly or by means of its affiliates and network.
How do I report a claim? +
If things go awry, don’t worry. Here’s what you need to do: >> Request a claim form: Email your request to travela@mapfre.com to receive the necessary claim form. >> Emergency medical assistance: If you need urgent help, contact the assistance center using the phone numbers listed on your Certificate of Insurance and policy document. >> Submit required documents: Complete the claim form and attach all relevant documentation (e.g., medical reports, receipts, proof of travel). >> Processing time: Claims are typically processed within 10 working days after submission of all required information.
How long will it take to process my claim? +
Once you’ve submitted all the required documents for your Jazeera Airways travel insurance claim, the processing time is typically within 10 working days. That means, excluding weekends and public holidays, you should expect a response in about two weeks. If your claim involves medical emergencies or quarantine coverage, your request may be prioritized.
Is quarantine direct billing? How do I claim and what happens if I cannot afford the charges? +
Yes, in many cases! If you test positive for COVID-19 while travelling, Jazeera Airways’ travel insurance partners (Europ Assistance) may offer direct billing for quarantine-related expenses – up to $100 per day for a maximum of 14 days. This means they’ll directly pay the hotel or facility, so you’re not stuck footing the bill upfront. However, direct billing depends on availability of their medical network in your location and whether the facility accepts direct billing from the insurer. If direct billing isn’t available, you’ll need to pay first and then file a claim for reimbursement. If there’s no direct billing and you’re unable to pay upfront, contact the assistance center immediately. They may prioritize your case, help arrange a facility within their network, or offer alternative solutions.
Does the policy cover pre-existing medical conditions? +
No, our travel insurance does not cover pre-existing medical conditions. If your condition existed before you booked your ticket and purchased the insurance, it’s considered ‘pre-existing’ and won’t be part of the coverage. Always read the policy details carefully and disclose your medical history accurately to ensure you’ve the right protection for your trip.
