Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Manager

 

Jazeera Airways is looking for a GSE Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and performance of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to ensure operational safety, efficiency, and cost control. He/ She will lead maintenance teams in executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and maintaining uninterrupted support to ground operations. The incumbent will focus on equipment lifecycle management, process improvement, and technical excellence to ensure optimal operational readiness across Airport functions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all GSE assets in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and aviation regulatory standards.
  • Monitor operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure cost-effective and reliable maintenance performance.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, providing guidance, technical training, and performance evaluations to promote skill development and accountability.
  • Plan and manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to minimize equipment downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Ensure full compliance with aviation safety, environmental, and quality management procedures across all maintenance activities.
  • Analyze equipment performance and reliability data to optimize utilization, extend lifecycle, and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Coordinate with Ground Operations, Ramp, and Engineering teams to align maintenance schedules with operational requirements.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor performance, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintenance quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and documentation to support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department on Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operating Expenditure (OPEX) planning, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including technology upgrades and efficiency enhancements for GSE operations.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and non-conformities.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance workforce.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in GSE maintenance in an Airline or Ground Handling organization, with at least 2 years in a managerial role..
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, electric, and diesel systems
  • Proven leadership skills and familiarity with safety & quality management systems
  • Working knowledge of OEM manuals, GSE diagnostic tools, and maintenance software
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
